Selected as a Mechanical Consultant in the infancy of this project, MPC provided budgets and offered best practice construction ideas. Eventually awarded the Sheet Metal, Piping, Process Piping, Plumbing, and Stainless Steel on this $9 M GMP project, MPC was off to the races. In 9 months and 40,000 man hours later, we installed over 50 miles of pipe and completed the project on time and within our GMP. This modular pilot plant will play a vital role in the development of new drugs coming to market.

The challenge of this project was to relocate a division of Abbott into an existing building off the Abbott campus. MPC was contracted to perform mechanical demolition and installation of a new Plumbing system for this research laboratory/office facility. Working under an aggressive schedule, MPC completed this project on time.

This multiple (11) phase project in an occupied building converted the direct expansion (DX) cooling system to a chilled water system. MPC replaced all the rooftop units and tied into the chilled water, steam, condensate, and hot water. Systems were upgraded from constant volume to VAV. Labs were also updated to include compressed air, natural gas, nitrogen, vacuum, and RO water. MPC also provided dedicated exhaust and Strobic fans to serve new lab spaces.

MPC provided Plumbing, Pipefitting, and Sheet Metal services for this R&D facility. Located in the heart of the lakefront campus, this is a 4 story office/lab building. The building is served by a high pressure campus steam system and chilled water plant. Dedicated fume exhaust systems discharge at high velocity after HEPA filtration. Everything you could imagine is packed into this lab building.

Orbital welded stainless steel process pipe included drug transfer lines, distilled water, and CIP lines. MPC also provided custom stainless steel platforms, doors, pass-throughs, walls, and cladding.

Process pipe consisted of distilled water, orbital welded CIP lines, compressed air, nitrogen, hydrogen, and hydrogen peroxide. MPC also provided custom stainless steel flashing and cladding.

MPC was hired to perform plumbing, sheet metal, and temperature controls for this clean room lab. Due to the nature of high potent drugs in this lab, double wall fusion welded drain pipe was installed. The ventilation system included HEPA filtration and stainless steel low level returns. A pneumatic control system completed this project.

This process piping job consisted of re-piping tanks in an operating production environment. Systems included stainless steel orbital welded transfer lines and purified water, RO water, steam, and condensate. A schedule 10 stainless steel relief header and discharge to the roof tied the entire system together.
